Alex Rosenbaum

Alex Rosenbaum is a Brooklyn based jeweler, by way of Philadelphia. Alex has dedicated the last three years to exploring the world of torchworking and borosilicate glass. With an extensive background in Fashion Design, including pursuing a professional career in garment making, she's been able to successfully uncover a medium that allows her to fluidly interact with her designs. 

Rosenbaum received a BFA from Syracuse University for Fashion Design. Since graduating in 2018, she worked as a designer at JCrew and Urban Outfitters. Rosenbaum primarily worked as a dress designer and would explore glass working as a hobby. Ultimately, she ended up taking concentrations at Penland and classes at Urban Glass. Many of Rosenbaum's creative inspirations derive from her grandmother who introduced her to sewing and painting, while also providing Alex with access to her bench and studio. 

Rosenbaum has followed up her passion for glass with an interest in metalsmithing and how to incorporate the two. She has built a connection with Brooklyn Metal Works to further her imaginative projects.
