Specific Gravity invites the members of Brooklyn Metal Works to join our community of artists. We are hosting an open call for jewelry and objects to be considered for a six month sales opportunity in our retail store. Specific Gravity is a growing shopping destination in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, providing the BKMW community creative support and a dedicated platform to showcase and sell their work. 

Artists, we want to see your work! We are looking for finely crafted pieces that reflect intentional design and your authentic style. We are interested in work that is part of your core collection or one-of-a-kind, depending on the type of work you make.  Selected works will be on consignment in store and additionally be available for purchase online along with promotional support of your work via social media. Our consignment agreement is a 50/50 split for a 6 month period subject to begin at our discretion, with the possibility of a longer duration. 

We ask that you prepare the following:

  • 1-3 Full Collections

  • Line Sheets including Wholesale and Retail Pricing

  • Materials Used, Dimensions of Work, Stone & Metal Provenance, Sizes

  • Optional: Catalogue of Additional Work

Things to consider: Can this work be replicated, is it one of a kind, transportation and ease of replenishment. 

To apply, please complete the Google form linked below by April 30th 11:59PM EST. Submission of this application does not guarantee admittance of your work for consignment. This is for a pre-selected interview. Artists will be notified via email on May 8th whether they have been selected for an in person interview. Interviews will take place at Brooklyn Metal Works on either May 20th, May 21st and May 22nd (Weds, Thurs, Fri) between the hours of 11am and 3pm. Please be prepared to bring and present your work for this meeting. From those interviewed, we will make our final selection. 

Artists will be notified of acceptance by May 29th.
