Judi Powers
Award-winning designer and bench jeweler Judi Powers explores her love for flowers, beach pebbles, fine art and travel in her fine jewelry collection. She aims to work as sustainably as possible and uses Fairmined™, recycled, and traceably sourced precious metals and gemstones to fabricate her work. Her trademarked soft Cashmere Finish® and signature green gold are the hallmarks of her work.
Powers began studying metalsmithing in 2002 at 92Y and after 10 years of part-time study there—and at SVA and Jewelry Arts Institute—she enrolled in F.I.T.’s renowned jewelry design program. It was there that she studied fine jewelry design with legendary Harry Winston head designer (the late) Maurice Galli and developed her signature sculptural style. While at F.I.T., Judi immersed herself in gemology and her passion for unusual gemstones is evident throughout her collection.
Judi holds an AAS degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Jewelry Design from F.I.T./SUNY and a BA in Art History from NYU. She attended Hunter College/CUNY for Masters Degree study in Art History. A passionate and perpetual student, Judi has continued to hone her bench skills through courses at Brooklyn Metal Works, New Approach School for Jewelers, and Kate Wolf Studio. She resides in New York’s Hudson Valley.
